April 1st marks National Walking Day, a reminder that one of the simplest forms of movement can have a powerful impact on your overall health. Walking is accessible, low-impact, and effective—making it a great starting point for people of all fitness levels.
At ARPC, we believe that movement is medicine. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, building strength, or just looking to stay active, walking is one of the best ways to keep your body moving and your health on track.
Over the past couple months, ARPC has been partnering with Big Peach Running Co. for local running clubs. From leading stretch and injury prevention clinics to helping runners prepare for their workouts, our physical therapists have been able to meet people where they are.
While these clubs are centered around running, they highlight something bigger: the importance of consistent movement. And that’s exactly what National Walking Day is all about.
Why walking matters:
- It improves cardiovascular health
- Supports joint mobility and muscle function
- Reduces stress and boosts mental well-being
- Helps prevent injuries by keeping the body active
For many people, walking is also the first step toward more advanced activity-like jogging, running, or strength training.
We’re here to support you at every stage of your movement journey. Whether you’re dealing with pain, recovering from an injury, or looking to improve performance, our team provides hands-on care to help you move better and feel better.
