On March 3, we partnered with Big Peach Running Co. in Dawsonville to host a stretch and injury prevention clinic before one of their weekly run club meetups. This event gave local runners the opportunity to learn how to properly stretch their bodies before heading out on their run.
Leading the clinic was PT McKenzie Simpson, who worked with a group of 13 runners. McKenzie walked participates through a series of dynamic stretches and mobility movements designed to warm up the muscles, improve range of motion, and reduce the risk of injury during their run.
Many runners often jump straight into activity without properly stretching their bodies. During the clinic, McKenzie explained the importance of warming up before running and demonstrated simple movements that runners can add to their routine. These stretches help activate key muscle groups such as the hips, hamstrings, and calves, which play a major role in running, performance, and injury prevention.
A big thank you to Big Peach Running Co. for hosting us and to everyone who came out to participate. We look forward to continuing to support the running community and hope to see you at the next clinic at a location near you!
